A child under 15 dies every 5 seconds around the world

An estimated 6.3 million children under 15 years of age died in 2017, or 1 every 5 seconds, mostly of preventable causes, according to new mortality estimates released by WHO, UNICEF, the United Nations Population Division and the World Bank Group.

Saving Lives at Birth 2018

Saving Lives at Birth announced Round 8 of the annual DevelopmentXChange, which challenges global problem-solvers to harness the power of ingenuity to develop and scale transformational solutions to improve maternal and newborn survival in poor, hard-to-reach communities around the world.
